For those who want to make a difference
Take your degree to the classroom with a UOW Pathway to Teaching program. UOW offers the Foundations in Teaching minor with selected courses, adding an education element to your study, and the opportunity of priority access to the Master of Teaching. You’ll graduate with a bachelor and master’s degree, and enjoy a reduced study load while you complete your postgraduate teaching qualification.
You can combine a Bachelor of Social Science or a Bachelor of Psychological Science with a Master of Teaching (Primary) and graduate with a teaching qualification through a UOW Pathway to Teaching program. These programs include a Foundations in Teaching minor, which when successfully completed along with your undergraduate degree, reduces your study load when you go on to complete your Master of Teaching.
Course Combinations
Undergraduate | Postgraduate |
Bachelor of Social Science (Pathway to Primary Education) | Master of Teaching (Primary) |
Bachelor of Psychological Science (Pathway to Primary Education) | Master of Teaching (Primary) |
Entry requirements for Pathway to Teaching courses are the same as those for the corresponding undergraduate degrees. See information under the Admissions, Key dates, and Fees heading on the pages linked below:
Priority access to the Master of Teaching (Primary) will be given when you complete your undergraduate degree with a weighted average mark of 65 or more, and start the master’s degree within two years of completing your bachelor degree. All other entry requirements for the Master of Teaching still apply.
You can apply for a Pathway to Teaching course in the same way you would apply for any other UOW undergraduate course:
- High School leavers should apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC)
- Mature age (non-school leavers) can apply online
