Financial Planning Major | 2020
This major is particularly applicable to those who wish to pursue a career within the financial services industry by gaining professional qualifications in the areas of providing financial planning and financial advice to clients. The areas of service provision are very wide including investment and asset portfolio construction and advice, superannuation, retirement and estate planning and associated services. In Australia, the Financial Planning Association of Australia is the relevant professional body.
Subjects Required for Major Study
The following subjects must be completed within the Bachelor of Mathematics and Finance (Honours) degree to satisfy the requirements of the Financial Planning major:
ACCY228, CSIT110, ECON100, ECON331, FIN 252, FIN 320, FIN 328, FIN 329, FIN 423, LAW 101, one of MGNT110 or MARK101.
This major is currently under consideration for accreditation. If successful, to be eligible for the accreditation students who have not completed LAW 101 prior to 2020, must also take LAW 302. Please consult the Academic Program Director for advice on the program of study.
The following program of study is recommended to satisfy this major in the Bachelor of Mathematics and Finance (Honours) degree in the minimum time.
