Bachelor of Pre-Medicine, Science and Health (Exercise Science) | 2019
The Exercise Science major provides an overview of the acute and chronic effects of physical activity and exercise on human performance, health, and wellbeing. The major provides an introduction to the core disciplines of exercise physiology, biomechanics and motor control, with foundation studies undertaken in biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and human growth and nutrition. Lectures, tutorials, and hands-on practical sessions underlie the teaching approach across the major, where your skills in the undertaking of research, data gathering and interpretation will be developed. This major is a pathway to Honours and postgraduate research, and graduate entry medicine. Additional study is required for entry into graduate entry allied health programs such as exercise physiology and physiotherapy.
Major Learning Outcomes
Students graduating from a major in Exercise Science will be able to:
- Illustrate a comprehensive and coherent knowledge in the principles and concepts associated with exercise science.
- Indicate how exercise science knowledge and skills can be applied in professional practice and scholarship.
