Master of Education Advanced (Educational Leadership) | 2018

Overview

The Educational Leadership specialisation offers advanced theoretical understanding and extensive practical skills that address areas such as curriculum leadership, change management, mentoring and supporting and managing staff.  During this degree, students will strengthen their skills in investigating and solving complex issues in a rapidly changing educational climate and conduct an individualised research project that ties in with their work, interests and study specialisation. 

Students in this Master's degree broaden their Educational Leadership study by undertaking further study in one of the following additional focus areas:

Course Structure

The Master of Education Advanced (Educational Leadership) requires the successful completion of 96 credit points comprising:

  1. 72 credit points for the Educational Leadership specialisation, which includes:
    1. 10 core subjects (60 credit points).  EDGZ921 must be completed within the first 36 credit points and EDGL941 be completed in the final session of the degree (24 credit points); and
    2. 2 electives selected from any Master of Education specialisation (12 credit points).
  2. 24 credit points in one additional focus area (Higher Education, Information and Communication Technology in Education and Training, or TESOL) as detailed below.

No more than 24 credit points shall be completed at 800 level.
