Social Epidemiology | 2018
Overview
Social epidemiology is an important area of public health, in which the patterns, causes and determinants of disease are investigated. Students in the Social Epidemiology major will graduate with knowledge and skills in navigating health, social and welfare datasets; translating data into evidence to inform policy decisions and evidence based practice.
Students will address the societal risk factors that affect the health and wellbeing of populations. Graduates are sought after in health data management systems, research and health related services to help describe, analyse and use health and disease data to identify health problems and provide information to plan health strategies.

In addition to the subjects required for the core and major, students will need to complete 24 credit points of elective subjects from the General Schedule (Dean's Scholars are required to complete 18 credit points). No more than 12 credit points of elective subjects shall be completed at 100 level.
