The University Entrance Certificate is a university preparation course specifically designed for students who have not completed secondary schooling, or who have not met the direct entry requirements for a UOW Bachelor Degree. 

The course involves a stream of subjects relevant to your chosen UOW degree. When you enrol in the program, you will be allocated to a relevant stream of study.

You will develop study skills and habits, including time management, essay writing, group work and presentation skills; and become familiar with the academic standards and expectations at university.

Guaranteed Entry into UOW
Successful completion of the University Entrance Certificate provides guaranteed entry to most UOW undergraduate Bachelor degrees.

There are No pathways into UOW Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, double degrees, four-year professional degrees, Law, Bachelor of Social Work, or the Bachelor of Economics & Finance. Check the UEC and STEP Pathway Streams to UOW Degrees for more details.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This program is only available to Domestic Students.

Stream 1 - Minimum ATAR 35.

Stream 2 and Stream 4 - Minimum ATAR 35, plus Minimum 60% for Year 12 HSC Mathematics Standard 2.

Stream 3 - Minimum ATAR 35, plus Minimum 80% for Year 12 Mathematics Standard 2.

Students who have completed Year 11 in Australia or equivalent may also be considered on a case-by-case basis taking into the applicant's work and life experience.

An instalment plan is available - credit card payment only. The first instalment plus the Student Service Fee must be paid prior to the commencement of the course, followed by a payment in week four, and then in week eight.

Alternatively, Australian Citizens and holders of Permanent Humanitarian Visas may also access the Australian Government FEE-HELP program to assist in the payment of their tuition fees. Information regarding fees and assistance can be obtained from the UOW Current Students website.
