The Diploma of Science Standard Session can get you guaranteed* entry into the second year of a Bachelor of Science or first year of a Bachelor of Science Education at the University of Wollongong (UOW).

What is the science behind life? What makes up the world’s diverse species and ecosystems? How do we protect and manage the earth’s wildlife and environment?
In the Diploma of Science Standard Session you will address these fundamental questions and gain the skills to be better prepared to succeed at your UOW bachelor. The course is designed to empower you to apply scientific thinking and analysis to important issues impacting the world today. You’ll explore various concepts and skills in mathematics and a variety of fundamental science disciplines and graduate with a Higher Education Diploma to help get you into the workforce while completing your bachelor's degree.
UOW College is offering Commonwealth Supported Places for eligible students for this course. This means the Australian government will subsidise your tuition fees by up to 75%. To qualify for this fee subsidy, you must meet the criteria, i.e. be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a permanent Australian Humanitarian visa holder. *Guarantee is subject to meeting UOW entry requirements.
We offer two intakes a year, allowing you the flexibility to choose when you commence. The duration of this course is 18 months full-time, or part-time equivalent. See the course outline for more information.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

OR - Minimum 65% in 4 HSC Subjects
OR - Minimum 70% in 3 HSC Subjects
ASSUMED KNOWLEDGE AND RECOMMENDED STUDIES
UOW College assumes students will have studied Year 12 HSC Mathematics Advanced and achieved any result OR Year 12 HSC Mathematics Standard 2 and achieved minimum 60%. Applicants who do not meet the 'Assumed Knowledge and Recommended Studies' requirement for this course are advised to complete an additional subject - please refer to the Course Outline for further details.
