The Diploma of Science Fast Track can get you guaranteed* entry into the second year of a Bachelor of Science or first year of a Bachelor of Science Education at the University of Wollongong (UOW).
The course is designed for international students, studying in Australia.
What is the science behind life? What makes up the world’s diverse species and ecosystems? How do we protect and manage the earth’s wildlife and environment?
In the Diploma of Science Fast Track you will address these fundamental questions and gain the skills to be better prepared to succeed at your UOW bachelor. The course is designed to empower you to apply scientific thinking and analysis to important issues impacting the world today. You’ll explore various concepts and skills in mathematics and a variety of fundamental science disciplines and graduate with a Higher Education Diploma to help get you into the workforce while completing your bachelor's degree.
We offer two intakes a year, allowing you the flexibility to choose when you commence. The duration of this course is 9 months full-time, or part-time equivalent. See the course outline for more information.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum ATAR equivalent 60 (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank), OR
- Minimum 70% in 4 HSC Subjects (or equivalent), OR,
- Minimum 75% in 3 HSC Subjects (or equivalent), OR
- Interstate ATAR equivalent (such as Victoria’s ENTER or Queensland OP), OR
- Results in an overseas qualification deemed equivalent to minimum ATAR, OR
- International Baccalaureate (IB)
If any of the above entry requirements are not met, applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
ENGLISH REQUIREMENTS
To gain entry into this course you need to have met the following requirements:
IELTS Academic 6.0 (min 6.0 in Reading and Writing) or equivalent completed in the last two years; or
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS COMPLETED IN ENGLISH: Applicants may be considered as meeting the English language requirement if successfully completing two (2) years of secondary or tertiary study at an approved institution where:
- the language of instruction was English; and
- the institution is located in a country where the official language is English.
Academic transcripts and an official letter from the institution certifying that English was the sole language of instruction and assessment must be provided. Previous study in English is considered on a case-by-case basis and does not automatically meet UOW's English language requirement.
The following citizenships may be considered for an English language waiver under the above guideline: Bahamas, Barbados, Canada, Fiji, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Tonga, Trinidad & Tobago, UK, USA.
