Course summary
The Diploma of Engineering Standard Session can get you guaranteed* entry into the second year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) with 48 credit points at the University of Wollongong (UOW).
The course is designed for international students, studying in Australia.
How do we solve problems using mathematical theory with physical and biological sciences? How can we design practical solutions for real world problems?
In the Diploma of Engineering Standard Session you will address these fundamental questions and gain the skills to be better prepared to succeed at your UOW bachelor. The course involves core first-year engineering subjects, which include theoretical and practical components, and hands-on experience in fundamental areas of engineering. You’ll explore various engineering disciplines, including maths and physics. You will also graduate with a Higher Education Diploma to help get you into the workforce while completing your bachelor's degree.
We offer three intakes a year, allowing you the flexibility to choose when you commence. The duration of this course is 12 months full-time, or part-time equivalent. See the course outline for more information.
