Course Description
|
|
Exercise physiologists are trained to utilise exercise as an intervention to improve health and wellbeing, and to help in the prevention and rehabilitation of injury in both healthy (including athletes), physically challenged (for example, the aged) and diseased (for example diabetes) populations.
The skills acquired are applied in clinical and community settings through clinical placements, which are an important part of the 3rd and 4th years of the degree.
The Bachelor of Exercise Science and Rehabilitation is a professionally accredited degree. Accreditation with the Australian Association for Exercise and Sports Science requires successful completion of the 4-year degree plus post-graduate work experience.
Students with an excellent academic record may apply to transfer to the 4-year Bachelor of Exercise Science and Rehabilitation degree upon completion of the first two years of the BSc (Exercise Science) or BSc (Exercise Science and Nutrition) degrees (or other approved degree programs).
